Louisiana Folk Roots, based in Lafayette, was founded in 1999. They have been on a mission to celebrate as much of Louisiana's rich cultural heritage as possible.

They celebrate Louisiana's culture at the source and explore the cultural traditions that make our corner of the world such an amazing place.

Have the urge to learn some Cajun accordion?
Need to knock the dust off the fiddle that's been in your closet for too long?
Want to know how to make your very own Mardi Gras costume for your next courir?
Want to find out what in the world a courir is?
Then you've come to the right place!

The Louisiana Folk Roots Workshop Stage will immerse you in these different aspects of cultural that are unique to only Louisiana. Whether it's the music, the dancing, the language and oral traditions, the natural history of our beautiful state, or all these things that draw you here, Louisiana Folk Roots is your connection at Festivals Acadiens to explore these traditions.

The Louisiana Folk Root Workshop Stage offers 2 days of interesting discussions and performances tied to these Cajun and Creole topics.
